Since 1997, JS NOLAN + ASSOCIATES LIGHTING DESIGN, LLC has designed the lighting for a wide range of domestic and international projects, which vary in size and complexity and include interior and exterior lighting and controls design as well as custom luminaire design. Our body of work is extensive and encompasses a wide range of project types. We do not, by choice, specialize in a specific project type.

Our role as Lighting Designer serves to bridge the gap between the Architect and the Electrical Engineer. As trained lighting design professionals, we blend continually emerging technology with sensitivity to aesthetics and human perception. Our approach is to reinforce the architectural design intent with the application of practical, innovative, energy efficient, and maintainable lighting solutions that produce creative, functional and effective, lighted environments.

Our team of lighting design professionals brings to the firm a variety of experience and educational backgrounds. Collectively, we draw from backgrounds in architecture, interior design, illumination engineering, and theater. This cross section of talent enables us to bring a unique perspective to each of our projects.

Issues of energy conservation and sustainability are an important part of every successful lighting design and we take pride in our track record of highly energy efficient designs, many of which have received the US Green Building Council's LEED Green Building rating.

Our goal is singular: To provide lighting design excellence while building strong relationships with those we serve.
